The idea for these sculptures was originally submitted for a commission at Great Notley Garden Village, near Braintree, Essex in 1994. |

The style was considered "too urban", and so the models went into storage. Eventually, in 1999 an appropriate commission opportunity arose, and the composition was rearranged to suit the new site at Colchester General Hospital. |
