On the first morning of the workshop the young people sketched ideas for their sculptures.

In the afternoon, scale models were built to develop these ideas.

One of the young people was interested in graffiti art, and this led to the concept of a dividing wall, with the sculptures in two groups either side.  The graffiti-ed side would represent the exterior, with the other side painted to represent the interior.

Another young person was a musician, and recorded a track about the artworks which would be played through a solar powered music system inside the TV sculpture.

Inside Out (maquette), 2002, clay, milliput, MDF, 100 x 60 x 50 cm

Unusually, a maquette was made after the project was completed!  This was used in a series of exhibitions about art workshops with children in care.
